SEGA launched Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Year Two on November 3, 2026, with the version 2.0.0 title update adding Duel Mode, new racers, vehicles, and courses on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch 2, and Switch.

Duel Mode replaces the usual 12-player race dynamic with tactical one-on-one competition centered on opponent distance and item use. A Duel Boost gauge fills over time and through item use, then activates for speed bursts while revealing opponents’ items, gadgets, and position. The mode offers offline Rival Duel against CPU rivals, online free matchmaking, limited-time Best-of-10 events, and friend matches with customizable rules. The Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds dev team said, “By letting players focus on their distance from their opponent and how they use items, races can unfold in entirely different ways.”

The update adds a Super Slot, a seventh dedicated gadget slot that enhances the effects of one-slot gadgets. Fifteen new gadgets arrive on Day One with more planned. Using the Super Slot requires unlocking the Grand Master Plate by racing at least 40 times, and players who already qualified can use it after installing the patch.

Bayonetta unlocks on November 3, 2026 through Rival Duel matches, while McLaren Racing arrives later in November 2026 and Aigis arrives in early 2027. McLaren Racing is a Speed-type machine driven by Sonic in Papaya and Anthracite livery. Aigis uses the Acceleration-type Palladion Dressy machine.

Year Two’s first DLC, the Godzilla Pack, releases November 3, 2026 with the Godzilla Escape course and Godzilla Cruiser, King Ghidorah Coupe, and Mothra Surf machines, plus Jukebox tracks and sounds. It is included with Season Pass Two or sold separately. Season Pass Two costs $29.99 USD and includes six premium franchise-collaboration DLC packs beginning with Godzilla Pack. Remaining packs arrive with EVANGELION in January 2027, Virtual Sanrio Puroland in Q2 2027, SEGALAND and Midgar Pack in Q3 2027, and Reload Revival Royal Pack in Q4 2027.

The Standard Edition costs $39.99 USD, and the Digital Deluxe Edition and Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition each cost $59.99 USD. Pricing was permanently cut, with the base game at $39.99 USD and Deluxe Edition at $59.99 USD. The Sega Consoles Pack is tied to Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition and Season Pass Two.

Bar chart, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds game editions and DLC pricing. Standard Edition: $39.99; Digital Deluxe Edition: $59.99; Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition: $59.99; Season Pass Two: $29.99; Godzilla Pack DLC: $5.99.

The Sega Consoles Pack contains three vehicles inspired by Dreamcast, Genesis, and Sega Saturn and is available starting November 3, 2026. The pack draws on colors, shapes, and button layouts, with Dreamcast rendered rounded and its color scheme and re-created VMU, while Genesis and Saturn are angular and subdued. Genesis Tower US needed extra experimentation to avoid blocking characters or gameplay. The pack originated as an April Fool’s joke.

Bonus content includes the SEGA Controllers Decal Pack starting October 9, 2026, and Super Shadow with Super Dark Flare from November 3, 2026 for owners of both Season Passes. Festivals now run 10 days instead of three, rank players by win streaks instead of points, keep streaks after second-place finishes, add AI Rival teams, and award Red, Blue, Gold, and Green Crowns.

World Match adds casual Free Match that does not affect rank while keeping Ranked Match for the original experience. It matches players against similar-skill Rivals for bonus Donpa Tickets and overhauls the main menu. Patch 2.0.0 shortens Ring respawn online only, shortens recovery for Acceleration Type Machines, and fixes the Power Type maximum speed cap.

Switch and Switch 2 Friend Match supports local wireless, while Play Missions require internet and award Donpa Tickets and Duel Medals when cleared by deadlines. A new shop exchanges those currencies for auras, horns, decals, characters, titles, and Jukebox tracks. Gadget customization plates increase from five to ten after Grand Master Plate, and maximum Nice! count rises from 999 to 99,999.

Patch notes also adjust Ring Engine, whose stat boost drops from +12 to +8 and whose top speed bonus falls from +3 km/h to +2 km/h, though in the Super Slot the stat bonus is +12 with top speed up to +3 km/h. Crash Pads now protect 30 percent of Rings instead of 50 percent, though the effect remains 50 percent in the Super Slot. Rocket Punch maximum wall bounces were lowered to two for both forward and backward throws, down from six forward and three backward throws previously. Comeback Kit’s Ring Limit increased from 110 to 130.

Sonic Global Community Director Aaron Webber outlined the new modes and additions in a showcase video ahead of the November 3, 2026 rollout. The update also includes the SEGA Fighting Beats Infinity album, featuring tracks from various SEGA fighting games. A weekly login campaign for version 2.0 offers a new “I ♡” Sonic character decal each week.

It is by Sonic Team and SEGA. The game holds a PlayStation Store average of 4.57 from over 10,000 reviews as of November 3, 2026.
