Ratalaika Games will release Vixen 375 on October 23 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X, with an English localization.
The game, titled Vixen 375, is a mech strategy RPG created by NCS Corporation and Masaya, and is set in the year 2394, where humanity faces a new threat after a brutal alien war. This release marks the game’s first appearance outside Japan after 34 years of being Japan‑only.
The re‑release is a straight and unfancy port, not a remaster or remake. Shinyuden is developing the port. Ratalaika Games is publishing the port.
New features include save states, screen filters, a cheat toggle, rewind, and turbo functionality. A trailer for the game is available for viewing. The price for the re‑release has not been announced. In Japan, the game saw a decent reception but did not rank among the top games of its era.
The re‑release will allow U.S. players to evaluate how the game holds up, given its prior inaccessibility in the United States. Players command a member of the elite Slash unit, controlling advanced VECTOR mechas to thwart a conspiracy that could doom the planet.
The game emphasizes combat over story, typical for a 1992 Sega Genesis mech title. They will also release a version for the original Sega Genesis console.
