Xbox and T-Mobile announced on October 26, 2026, that qualified T-Mix subscribers in the United States can choose Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or Premium starting in November 2026.

The announcement arrived the same day T-Mobile introduced T-Mix, its program giving U.S. customers more choice over wireless plan benefits. T-Mix benefits cover streaming, music, gaming, food delivery, sports, artificial intelligence, and wireless services, with partners including Netflix, Hulu, and Xbox Game Pass. The deal brings gaming subscriptions into wireless plan bundles, a distribution model streaming platforms have long used through telecom providers.

T-Mix offers three one-line plans starting at $55 per month for Standard, $75 per month for More, and $95 per month for Loaded, requiring AutoPay and subject to applicable taxes and fees. Standard includes one Pick, More includes two Picks, and Loaded includes three Picks to select partner benefits. The Tech Marketer says Xbox Game Pass is not automatically included at no extra cost with every T-Mix plan; customers must verify the Picks required, eligibility restrictions, and final T-Mobile terms. The advertised prices do not necessarily equal the total monthly bill for every customer.

Subscribers can play supported games on Xbox consoles, smart TVs, PCs, and other compatible devices they already own. Access depends on the subscription, game, device, and supported playing method, so not every title is available on every device and features do not work identically across platforms. Customers should check cloud gaming availability and usage conditions separately depending on the device, subscription, and playing method. Xbox One owners can stream eligible Xbox Series X/S games without upgrading hardware under the new cloud gaming model.

Starting in November 2026, Xbox will limit cloud streaming to 15 hours per month for Game Pass Ultimate, 10 hours per month for Game Pass Premium, and five hours per month for Game Pass Essential. Xbox says the limits should affect only four percent of Game Pass subscribers. The limits take effect the same month the T-Mobile benefit launches. Anyone can purchase cloud playtime hours through the Xbox Store, so cloud gaming will no longer be limited to Game Pass subscribers.

T-Mobile offered Netflix and Hulu as On Us freebies and discounted Apple TV+ for $3 per month. Before the official announcement, an unconfirmed September 2026 report said T-Mobile might add eight new perks including Xbox Game Pass, though the carrier had not confirmed it and the specific tier was unknown. The Mobile Report named DashPass, Apple Music, YouTube, SiriusXM, Paramount+, ESPN+, Google AI, and Xbox Game Pass as possible perks. Xbox currently offers Essential, Premium, and Ultimate Game Pass tiers, but the partnership makes only Ultimate and Premium available to eligible T-Mix customers.

In October 2025, Microsoft raised Game Pass Ultimate from $19.99 to $29.99 per month, a 50 percent increase adding $120 per year that prompted mass subscriber cancellations. Xbox chief strategy officer Matthew Ball said, “We shed millions of subscribers over the span of a few months”.

Game Pass had 30 million subscribers as of mid-2026, down from 34 million in February 2024 and far below the 77 million projected by July 2026. In July 2026, Game Pass lost ten titles including Dungeons of Hinterberg, EA Sports FC 24, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider on July 15 while adding eleven new titles including Gears of War: Reloaded on July 9 as a Game Pass Premium exclusive.

In June 2026, Sharma told Bloomberg the service had returned to growth after an eight-month decline, with expanding retention. On July 7, 2026, Xbox announced a restructuring and will complete 3,200 layoffs by July 2027, and Sharma said Game Pass “did not grow at the pace we expected”.

Call of Duty games were removed from day-one Game Pass availability as part of the price correction, a trade-off Matthew Ball said users have appreciated. Unconfirmed September 2026 rumors suggested an ad-supported tier at $12.99 monthly and an ad-free tier at $19.99 monthly or $239.99 annually, with day-one releases potentially losing their status between February and April 2027. Xbox told Forbes writer Paul Tassi that no Game Pass changes have been finalized, saying “We don’t have any changes to announce today or plans that have been finalized.”

The Tech Marketer says current subscribers should manage any existing Xbox Game Pass subscription before activating the T-Mobile benefit to avoid potential duplicate charges or overlapping arrangements. T-Mix customers may adjust their chosen partner benefits during designated periods, allowing flexibility to swap benefits over time. T-Mobile says its T-Mix selection of benefits can evolve over time, though the timing and details of future additions remain uncertain. Xbox Wire directs customers to T-Mobile’s announcement for eligibility details and to a separate page for comparing Game Pass plans before choosing a benefit.
