Argonaut Games confirmed that Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos will release digitally for Nintendo Switch on Oct. 29, 2026. The sequel to the multi-million selling Croc: Legend of the Gobbos will also launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and GOG in Q4 2026. Argonaut Games plans a physical edition for a later date, with its timing dependent on manufacturing, retailer demand and collector interest. Additional details on release timing and physical editions will arrive later in 2026.

Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos contains more than 40 levels of open-ended three-dimensional platforming across four villages – Sailor, Cossack, Caveman and Inca – each with its own Gobbo culture. The story sends Croc searching for his birth parents after a message in a bottle, while Baron Dante returns after the Dantinis resurrect him with a promise of revenge. The sequel introduces a triple jump for additional vertical reach and adds vehicle sections with car and speedboat races, minecart rides, hang-glider jumps and airplane flight. It also includes the Croc2pedia, an in-game digital museum with design documents, marketing assets, animation tests, 3D models of cut content and team interviews.

The remaster improves load times and offers optional accessibility toggles. Camera adjustments reduce blind jumps and odd angles, and the remaster team rebalanced checkpoint placement, so retries feel fairer. Other quality-of-life features include clearer objectives, map markers for side missions and a more predictable save system. A 90-minute Croc2mentary featuring interviews with original developers and the remaster team is also included.

The remaster restores the development-era title Croc 2 Kingdom Of The Gobbos. The original Croc 2 used a different engine than Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, which created remastering challenges. Mike Arkin, co-CEO of Argonaut Games, said Croc’s successful return exceeded hopes and made remastering Croc 2 the logical next project if the first game sold well. Jez San OBE, Argonaut’s founder, said Croc 2 was always the plan once fans embraced the first remaster.
