Natus Vincere’s w0nderful was its highest-rated player at 1.03 Rating 3.0, b1t followed at 1.01, and its remaining three players finished below 1.00. Mihai “iM” Ivan died in every first-half round on Inferno without a kill and ended the map at 5.1 average damage per round.
Vitality began Bucharest with 2:0 wins over 9z and The MongolZ before losing 1:2 to FUT in its first qualification opportunity. Natus Vincere opened 2-0, then lost to BetBoom and to Vitality, which sent it into the final qualification pool instead of advancing directly. There, one final best-of-three will decide whether it reaches the playoffs or is eliminated. It will face Spirit on day five of the PGL Masters.
Team Vitality and MOUZ joined FUT Esports, BetBoom, and Aurora in the playoffs. MOUZ came from behind to beat Team Spirit on Tuesday, and both teams advanced to the PGL Masters Bucharest playoffs; MOUZ is 4-1 against Spirit since the summer break. Aurora earned its place earlier Tuesday by beating Team Liquid, and three 2-2 deciders on Wednesday will fill the last playoff spots.
jL said he went into the match wanting to have fun and help Vitality as much as he could. He called Vitality one of the best teams in the world because its players cover for each other, communicate more, and organize things well. He added that he does not expect the playoff run to change how teams see him, since credit will always go to Vitality.
Beyond Bucharest, jL wants to join a trophy-contending team but will not sign just to play, and with a child on the way he is prepared to walk away if he does not find a team after Singapore. He said he might call it quits and focus on content, his wife, and his kid if no team materializes after the Major. He values building toward a trophy with teammates more than the trophies themselves.
The five-game rule links jL’s Bucharest appearances to an invited PGL Major Singapore roster spot since the team must play at least five games at the event. The match moved Vitality four VRS points higher to 1,979 points, leaving it at number one, while Natus Vincere fell three points to 1,560 points and number sixteen. The VRS ranking update shows how the match affected both teams’ global positions and point totals.<!–CITE_LIST–>
