Idea Factory and Compile Heart revealed Dokapon Kingdom Connect 2 on Oct. 29, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The game is targeting a Summer 2027 release and will launch simultaneously worldwide across all three platforms. This marks the first simultaneous launch in the history of the Dokapon series.
Dokapon Kingdom Connect 2 is a direct sequel to Dokapon Kingdom: Connect, a Switch remake of the long-running board-game RPG series. The series began more than 30 years ago with Dokapon 3 2 1 – Arashi o Yobu Yuujou on the Super Famicom and later appeared on PlayStation 2, Nintendo Wii, and Nintendo Switch. Sting is developing the new title, while Compile Heart publishes and Idea Factory International is involved in the announcement.
The game will be available on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The Nintendo Switch 2 version is a separate build tailored to the newer hardware. Launching all three versions on the same day marks a departure from the series’ previous staggered regional releases.
Players can create their own hero by adjusting hairstyles, eyes, mouth, and other facial features. The customization system lets users save their favorite designs for future playthroughs. It is described as the most extensive character customization in the series’ history.
A new cooperative battle mode requires all players to team up against Giga Monsters that attack Dokapon Castle. After defeating a Giga Monster together, the party receives a large gold reward and must decide whether to split it fairly or let one player keep it all. The choice puts friendships to the test.
The game includes a mode that lets all players begin their adventure at a high level with powerful equipment already in hand. This option skips the early-game progression and lets experienced players jump straight into the action.
The title features more than 10 job classes, starting with Warrior, Magician, and Thief. Players unlock more jobs by meeting in-game conditions, and some new jobs may grant power from the gods.
Core gameplay revolves around flicking a spinner to move across board game-style maps. Each space triggers unique events such as villages, shops, monster battles, and NPC encounters. Landing on the same space as another player forces a head-to-head battle.
Victory goes to the player who accumulates the most wealth by the game’s conclusion. Defeating another player in combat allows the victor to take their items, money, and towns, and even strip them of their dignity. Winners can also play pranks on defeated rivals by giving them ridiculous hairstyles or changing their names.
The Kingdom of Dokapon hides seven treasures that, when gathered, bring peace and prosperity to the realm. According to the game’s lore, if the king possesses the seven treasures, peace returns to the kingdom, and when the king gathers all seven, the kingdom prospers beyond imagination.

Freed villages provide regular income, while defeating monsters levels up characters and improves their stats. Players must balance conquering villages for ongoing revenue with battling monsters for experience and loot.
Direct attacks on other players and robberies at shops are possible gameplay mechanics. Not every encounter with another player must lead to a battle, as securing an income source or blocking a path to a valuable field can be more rewarding.
The battle system offers four command types — Attack, Defend, Strike, and Magic — each with distinct advantages and disadvantages. Players choose only one command per turn, requiring them to predict their opponent’s move.
The game is consistently described as a title that tests and often breaks friendships through its competitive gameplay. Players can attack rivals, steal their belongings, and play pranks on defeated opponents.
Online multiplayer supports 2–4 players, with the possibility of cross-region matches. Local multiplayer allows up to four players to gather around a single PC for couch co-op. The game can also be played solo.
Supported text languages include Japanese, English, Thai, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. English and Japanese voice acting are confirmed for the game.
The publishers released an announcement trailer alongside the reveal, showcasing enhanced graphics, new character customization, and co-op battles. Dokapon Kingdom Connect 2 will make its public debut at Thailand Game Show 2026, which runs from Oct. 29 through Nov. 1, 2026, at the Japan Pavilion in Bangkok.
