Raw Fury and Spooky Doorway launched The Séance of Blake Manor on Nintendo Switch 2 on Oct. 27, 2026, also releasing it that day on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Game Pass.

Players control Private Investigator Declan Ward in a first-person supernatural detective game set in Ireland in 1897, searching for Evelyn Deane at Blake Manor around Halloween. Nintendo Everything describes Blake Manor as teeming with intriguing characters who hold their own secrets and tales, and says the game explores religious themes, class divisions and the supernatural through Victorian-era and ancient Celtic influences.

Swedish indie publisher Raw Fury published the title and distributed it through the Nintendo eShop, while Irish developer Spooky Doorway created it. Raw Fury describes itself as an indie (un)publisher with over 50 games published, and Spooky Doorway is a Galway-based studio making narrative-focused games about Irish mythology, history and ghost stories for a worldwide audience.

The game first released on PC via Steam in 2025 and reached consoles just over a year later on Oct. 27, 2026, its PC anniversary. The PC edition arrived on the Microsoft Store the same day, with Play Anywhere support for saves between Xbox and PC.

The Séance of Blake Manor joined Xbox Game Pass on its first day on consoles for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC subscribers. The game reached the service’s subscribers for the first time, having been available only on PC via Steam.

The Oct. 27, 2026 release matched All Hallows’ Eve in Connemara in 1897, the night before the Grand Séance in the game’s story. Spooky Doorway announced the game at Xbox Gamescom 2026, about two months before the console launch, timing the date to both the PC anniversary and the festival that gives the story its urgency.

At Halloween 1897, mystics from around the world gather in western Ireland to tear open the veil between worlds and speak with the dead, in a séance whose organizers intend to make the crossing literal. Tech Times describes two dozen mystics at the ritual and the Samhain folk belief behind it.

Every action in the game consumes in-game minutes, with 24 suspects moving on independent schedules across the manor, meaning players can miss events if they are not in the right place at the right time. Standing still to read notes or plan costs no time, but examining objects, questioning suspects and moving between areas advances the clock, making each minute a decision.

The game includes no fewer than seventeen séance attendees along with hotel staff, and players have less than 48 hours before the séance takes place. They must learn character motivations and uncover clues about Evelyn Deane’s disappearance while guests move through the manor on their own schedules.

Players talk to and question a varied group of suspects to learn their motives and investigate them to unearth hidden clues from how they look. The truth about Blake Manor and Evelyn Deane’s whereabouts comes from logging details, drawing connections and cross-checking evidence.

The comic-book art style makes every frame look hand drawn, with items examined through comic panels, drawing inspiration from Mike Mignola, Edward Risso and Tim Sale. Location and gameplay drive a period-appropriate dynamic soundtrack that adapts as the story progresses and complements branching dialogues and impactful choices.

Tech Times reports an 89 on Metacritic and a 95 percent recommendation rate on OpenCritic. The Guardian gave the game five stars, and more than 3,000 Steam reviewers rated it 94 percent positive.

Nintendo World Report’s review said loading times for doors and for moving between areas took the reviewer out of the experience, and that vague clue progression forced repeated backtracking through the manor. The reviewer felt the loading times paired with navigation uncertainty made travel difficult, though the reviewer praised the atmosphere and storytelling.

The PC version of The Séance of Blake Manor costs $19.99 on Steam and was discounted 40 percent at the time of reporting, with a free demo also available. The discount applied to the base game, while a digital artbook and an original soundtrack were sold as separate downloadable add-ons.

Tech Times quotes Spooky Doorway’s chief executive and lead artist Paul Conway as calling the game ‘a meeting of Agatha Christie and Bram Stoker’s Dracula’. He said it explores Irish history, folklore, mythology, religion, class and colonial scars. In his preview for TheSixthAxis, Stefan said,

Having such a broad cast of characters to investigate, it will be fascinating to see how this gels with the game's time limit.

Stefan, TheSixthAxis

The preview implied players must save Miss Deane and also save people from attending the séance.
