Jurassic Sunset Games releases Vice: Magic City Mayhem on Xbox Series X|S on Nov. 18, 2026, one day before Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto VI launches on Nov. 19, 2026.

The studio confirmed the date through an official release-date trailer whose description reads “One day before GTA6. SUCK IT, @RockstarGames.” Jurassic Sunset Games is a small studio based in West Palm Beach, Florida. Founded by Matthew Schulz to deliver bite-sized experiences, the team includes veterans of Telltale Games and EA Tiburon.

Vice: Magic City Mayhem is a top-down, 8-bit retro action-adventure drawing on Zelda and a Vice City theme, blending Zelda-style immersive exploration, intense combat, and puzzles with Vice City-style outrageous storylines, vibrant world-building, and dark humor. Players control Dutch, one of Magic City’s most feared enforcers, on a quest to rescue his one true love, Sophie. The adventure takes place in wild nightclubs, scenic beaches, and raptor-infested yachts. Magic City is formed by six unique environments including Downtown, Magic Beach, and Bling Kong’s Nightclub.

Combat uses real-time combat with a katana and one weapon or item at a time. The game includes eight unique items, some of which are upgradable, and features eight fearsome bosses, each ruling a different district of Magic City. Xbox capabilities include 4K Ultra HD, single player, console keyboard and mouse, Xbox achievements, Xbox presence, and Xbox cloud saves.

The game releases on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox on day one with no staggered rollout and no console exclusivity. Pre-orders were already open as of the official trailer release, and the game can be pre-ordered on the Xbox Store for £12.49 / $14.99. Upcoming Games lists the Xbox price at US$14.99 and records the release date as Nov. 18, 2026, previously Dec. 31, 2026, a change observed on Oct. 19, 2026.

Grand Theft Auto VI still launches Nov. 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no PC date announced. The blockbuster costs $70-plus, while Vice: Magic City Mayhem is a small pixel-art adventure on four platforms. Grand Theft Auto VI returns to Vice City in the modern day inside the fictional state of Leonida. GTA VI News says the pixel game is arguably closer to the original Vice City mood than Grand Theft Auto VI itself will be, and notes that the 1980s hair, pastel suits, and neon come from GTA: Vice City (2002), not the new game.

Several developers have chosen to move their games away from Grand Theft Auto VI’s release window. September 2026 was unusually crowded as studios pushed launches in before the GTA VI window closed, and most of the industry has treated November 19 as a black hole, with several teams openly steering clear of it. GTA VI News contrasts that avoidance with Jurassic Sunset Games’ decision to target Nov. 18.

Rockstar Games and the Miami Heat announced A Night in Vice City, a Grand Theft Auto VI collaboration taking place on Nov. 18, 2026. The Miami Heat host the Milwaukee Bucks at Kaseya Center that day, with tip-off at 7:00 PM EST. A massive Welcome to Vice City sign goes on the arena roof, and the Heat will play on a special Vice City court while debuting a new uniform. The game will air nationally on ESPN, with Local 10 carrying it in South Florida.

The Miami Heat describes the collaboration as a first-of-its-kind sports crossover tied directly to the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI. The new Vice City uniform will receive a separate full reveal. The Court Culture Vice City Collection is available through the official Miami Heat Store, including T-shirts, hoodies, crewnecks, cropped tops, and New Era hats using Vice City name and imagery.

The project began as a Kickstarter campaign in autumn 2025, running September 30 to October 30. The campaign had a $10,000 goal and secured $13,278 in funding. Jurassic Sunset Games said the game was already around 80 percent complete during the Kickstarter. Founded by Matthew Schulz to deliver bite-sized experiences, the studio’s team includes Meeka Elliot, Chris Sensebe, Ryan Simmons, Ryan Jenkins, and Nick Seyer.

Developers say the game may include strong language and sexual content. An early Steam page described the game as planning to unlock in approximately two weeks. The Steam page later continued to show a Q4 2026 window while the PlayStation Store concept page listed the date as undetermined. GameSpew said its Steam demo updated as of Sept. 20, 2026, and that the game is not aimed at Grand Theft Auto VI’s core audience, calling the launch timing unwise.
