This is a new development in a story we reported earlier: Shift Up adds Nikke DLC to Switch 2 Stellar Blade at no extra cost.

Key facts

  • Resolution targets for the Switch 2 port are an upscaled 1080p when docked and native unscaled 720p in handheld mode.
  • The Switch 2 version renders at a 30 frames per second base before FSR 3.1 frame interpolation doubles the output to a target of 60 frames per second.
  • Stellar Blade Complete Edition bundles all post-launch updates, NieR: Automata and NIKKE collaboration content, and exclusive Bayonetta crossover costumes.
  • Reviewers described the Joy-Con 2 controllers as uncomfortable and too small for the fast-paced action and demanding parry mechanics required by the game.

Reviewers flagged performance trade-offs and input lag in Stellar Blade Complete Edition for Nintendo Switch 2. RPG Site recommended disabling default frame generation to reduce input lag and visual artifacts.

Shift Up CTO DongKi Lee said in an August 31, 2026 interview that the port combines NVIDIA DLSS upscaling with AMD FSR 3.1 frame interpolation to target 60 frames per second. The Switch 2 version renders at a 30 frames per second base before interpolation doubles output toward 60 frames per second. Lee said, “We have 30 frames per second to have it even and then use interpolation – a frame interpolation – for targeting 60.”

Shift Up confirmed the port offers no selectable graphics modes, locking players into one optimized profile. Tech Times reported that a day-one patch will ship to address technical anomalies from early builds. The port targets upscaled 1080p when docked and native unscaled 720p in handheld mode.

The port incorporates Switch 2 hardware features including gyro aiming, mouse mode, touchscreen support for menus, and HD rumble implementation. Noisy Pixel and Shift Up Studios described the Joy-Con 2 controllers as uncomfortable and too small for the fast-paced action and demanding parry mechanics required by the game.

Stellar Blade Complete Edition bundles all post-launch updates, NieR: Automata and NIKKE collaboration content, and exclusive Bayonetta crossover costumes. Shift Up announced that the physical Switch 2 edition includes the entire game directly on the cartridge.

Pricing listings varied, with The Outer Haven showing $69.99 and GamingTrend listing $59.99 for the Switch 2 edition. GamingTrend measured the Switch 2 version at 25.2 GB with a 21.5-second initial load time, compared to 38.8 GB and 8 seconds on PlayStation 5.

Tech Times reported that the original release of Stellar Blade earned an 81 out of 100 on Metacritic and sold over 3 million copies across PlayStation 5 and personal computers. GameRant reported that Stellar Blade: Complete Edition received an ESRB rating of M for Mature for blood and gore, violence, language, and suggestive themes.
