Key figures, November Steam discounts on older Grand Theft Auto games. GTA Trilogy price on Steam: $19.79; GTA Trilogy discount: 67%; GTA 4 Complete Edition price: $6; GTA 4 Complete Edition discount: 70%.

Price tracker Isthereanydeal.com says the Trilogy price matches the lowest the bundle has ever reached and comes close to Grand Theft Auto 4’s lowest ever mark. MastersInGaming also calls the Steam discounts an intentional pre-Grand Theft Auto 6 sale, though the site calls it possibly coincidental.

The Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Definitive Edition arrived on Steam in 2023 after a 2021 debut in a messy condition. Grand Theft Auto 4 originally came out in 2008. It is not sold digitally on the PlayStation Store because Sony did not begin selling full-priced games online until after 2008.

MastersInGaming reports that Steam user reviews rate Vice City and San Andreas as very positive while Grand Theft Auto 3 is mixed. It links the reception to the game’s age – 25 years – and its place as the series’ first 3D title, which carried jank and roughness right from the start. Grand Theft Auto 4: Complete Edition avoids the trilogy’s technical problems, marks a shift in design and tone, and costs less than half the Trilogy bundle.

Players can get Grand Theft Auto 1 free for Windows from the DOS Games Archive, and the same is true of Grand Theft Auto 2. Computers running Windows 10 or later may need setting adjustments, including enabling DirectPlay, plus a Windows support package to run the old 16-bit installer. Grand Theft Auto, the 1997 debut, was viewed from a bird’s-eye perspective; GTA London 1969 is a 1960s British expansion; the sequel GTA 2 is gloomy and retro-futuristic.

Grand Theft Auto 3, along with Vice City and San Andreas, costs €5 or $5 on smartphones and tablets; Grand Theft Auto 4 and Grand Theft Auto 5 are not on iOS or Android. Mobile versions are sometimes sold as a cheaper bundle with touchscreen controls and Bluetooth controller support. Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced Edition is sold on Steam, the Epic Games store and the Rockstar Game Launcher with improved graphics, and buyers should check whether a PC can run it first because the game is 13 years old.

On Nintendo Switch, the Trilogy is just under €20 rather than €60 and remains available until around November 16. Console stores carry nearly every Grand Theft Auto title from Grand Theft Auto 3 onward, sometimes bundled or sold individually in different editions, while polished early-2000s editions sometimes remain just under €60.

GORANKED GLOBAL SERVICES OÜ reports that Rockstar cut prices on older Grand Theft Auto games in a July 2026 sale on Steam, Xbox and PlayStation, with Grand Theft Auto IV at $6.99 on Xbox and Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced at $14.99 on Steam. Grand Theft Auto V Story Mode was $9.99 on the Xbox Store, and Grand Theft Auto IV add-ons were $4.99 each, while the Trilogy cost about $19.79 on PlayStation and Xbox.

GORANKED GLOBAL SERVICES OÜ reports that the Xbox Ultimate Game Sale was set to run through July 29 and that several Steam and console sales ran into late July, with retailer end dates from July 28 to July 30 and no equivalent discounts on the Nintendo eShop. The outlet also says the reductions coincided with seasonal sales events, that publishers commonly adjust catalogue pricing around major releases, and that Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, had a scheduled earnings call around that time.

GORANKED GLOBAL SERVICES OÜ describes Grand Theft Auto IV as a darker narrative that runs poorly on modern PC hardware with licensed music tracks missing from later reissues, and calls the Xbox version smoother. The outlet calls Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced the newest version of Grand Theft Auto V, built for current systems with current gameplay and online features. It says the Trilogy Definitive Edition came out with performance and visual issues, was patched after release, and that players use mods to change or restore parts of the originals.

GORANKED GLOBAL SERVICES OÜ says Grand Theft Auto V’s online revenue, from paid content and modes such as roleplay servers, has kept it commercially active for over ten years. The outlet adds that lower catalogue prices cut the cost of entry for new players and simplify reinstalling older entries for those coming back. It also says buyers should verify edition details, file sizes and system requirements, since some editions may lack original licensed music or have compatibility quirks on modern systems.
