Voice actress Erika Ishii provided new dialogue for Ghost of Yōtei’s Complete Edition, which bundles the base game, Legends multiplayer, the roguelike Most Wanted, and the Echoes of Sekigahara expansion on PlayStation 5. The original game launched on October 2, 2025, making the Complete Edition release approximately one year later.
Erika Ishii, who voices protagonist Atsu, recorded additional lines for both the Echoes of Sekigahara expansion and the Most Wanted mode. She noted there were at least a couple of months between her final recording for the main campaign and her return to work on the expansion. During that break, she played the finished game, which helped her step back into the character when recording new dialogue.
Echoes of Sekigahara splits its story between present-day events and flashbacks to Atsu’s time on the mainland. The expansion introduces the Ashoro Foothills region, a Heavy Weapons type that can be picked up from enemies or the environment, and new status-effect mechanics, including arrows that lodge in the body preventing Spirit-point healing and meteor hammers that bind targets. Completing the expansion takes roughly eight to eleven hours.
Legends is a cooperative multiplayer mode, while Most Wanted is a single-player roguelike where players hunt bounties for each member of the Yōtei Six. Players earn permanent in-game currency and can unlock characters including Atsu, Oyuki, Nagato, and Jin Sakai. Erika Ishii mentioned that Jin Sakai appears in Most Wanted and that Daisaku Tsuji recorded new voice lines for that mode.
Erika Ishii discussed Atsu’s personal life with Echoes of Sekigahara writer Courtney Woods at the game’s launch party. They agreed that Atsu needed a little romance in her story, a wish fulfilled in the expansion. Ishii reflected that she has spent four years voicing Atsu, calling the character a permanent part of her heart.
Ishii also mentioned she had guessed the Complete Edition would launch on the game’s first anniversary and was only one day off.
