Sony added Tomb Raider IV–VI Remastered to PlayStation Plus at no extra cost for Essential, Extra, and Premium subscribers on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, with the compilation available beginning November 3, 2026.
The compilation brings together three games originally developed by Core Design: Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation from 1999, Tomb Raider: Chronicles from 2000, and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness from 2003. The Last Revelation and Chronicles were PlayStation 1 exclusives at launch, while The Angel of Darkness was a PlayStation 2 exclusive at launch. Texas-based studio Aspyr released the remaster on February 14, 2025, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 5 Pro to mark the Tomb Raider franchise’s 30th anniversary.
Subscribers who claim the compilation bypass a $30 PlayStation Store purchase. They can add it to their library from November 3 through November 30, 2026, and keep it as long as they maintain an active subscription, losing access if the subscription lapses or ends.
Beebom reports that Sony officially revealed the November 2026 lineup, which also includes Dead Island 2 and Monster Train 2. ComicBook.com places Tomb Raider IV–VI Remastered in the month’s first wave of games for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 subscribers.
ComicBook.com says the remaster updated the visuals but left the bad and outdated gameplay and design of the original games in place, undercutting other improvements, though nostalgia remains a draw for some players. Metacritic scores for the compilation run from 62 to 70, with The Last Revelation scoring 79 and the other two games landing in the 60s and 50s, with ComicBook.com attributing the modest scores to the source material rather than the remaster itself. Playing the main campaigns takes at least 35 hours, while completionists should expect about 70 hours.
Essential includes monthly games, online multiplayer, and exclusive sales access. Extra adds the expansive games catalog and a selection of Ubisoft titles. Premium includes the Classics Catalog and exclusive game trials for new releases.
The Classics Catalog spans more than 400 games across PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2, PSP, and PlayStation 3, with availability varying by region; Thumbsticks’ list, last updated October 24, 2026, covers Canadian availability. Some catalog titles offer enhancements such as higher-resolution rendering, rewind, quick saves, and video filters, with features varying by title. PlayStation 3 games stream only and are unavailable on PlayStation Portal.
Other retro releases also arrived on PlayStation platforms. Koei Tecmo released a free PlayStation 5 demo for Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered on September 24, 2026. The revival of the 2001 PlayStation 2 game launches October 1, 2026, and lets players experience the Battle of Hulao Gate as several officers, though save data cannot carry over to the full game. PlayStation Plus Premium members can cloud stream the demo, and a classic PlayStation 2 game from 2005 is also available on PlayStation 5 for $2 for a limited time.
PlayStation Plus has seen price hikes over the past few years and evolved into a multi-tier model where each level offers unique benefits.
