CD Projekt RED released Update 5.01 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2 on 2026-10-19, with the patch rolling out that day.

The update revises the tone mapping system to produce enhanced colors, lighting, contrast and detail in the game. As part of the broader Remastered update, the tone mapping change aims to improve image quality across all platforms. It also reworks the bloom effect to create more realistic and varied lighting across different environments. The bloom adjustment gives lighting a more realistic and varied look in‑game.

The patch adjusts image sharpening and resolution to improve visual clarity and fidelity on Switch 2. CD Projekt RED acknowledged that players had criticized the Switch 2 version for blurry visuals in handheld mode, and the update targets that issue. The patch fixes an HD Rumble issue that previously limited the effect to the left Joy‐Con 2 during ladder climbing. It also resolves a rare crash that occurred when switching between in‑game regions.

Additionally, the update prevents map pins from being placed on the black bars surrounding the map. CD Projekt RED views bringing The Witcher 3 to Switch 2 as a natural next step after their work on Cyberpunk 2077. The studio aims to deliver the same improvements across platforms, signaling its commitment to optimizing legacy titles for the new hardware. Players can download Update 5.01 starting today.
