Ratatan, a rhythm roguelike action game from Patapon creator Hiroyuki Kotani, launched on Oct. 15, 2026 for PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The launch trailer showcases the game’s vibrant visual style and its mix of rhythm-based gameplay with roguelike progression. Version 1.0 includes new chapters (Chapters 3 and 4), the assembly of all Dark Ratatan, and performance improvements.

Following its launch, Ratatan sold over 150,000 units worldwide.

Upcoming patches target achievement bugs and progression issues that prevent access to Episode 3. They also address multiplayer connection problems, while cross-platform multiplayer remains under development. The upcoming updates will fix bugs related to achievements, progression barriers in Episode 3, and multiplayer connectivity, while cross‑platform play is still being worked on.

Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 version made Standard and Deluxe Editions available, each with early purchase bonuses such as the legendary weapon “Spirit Sword Banbansord”. Price points were 34.99, 31.49, 39.99, and 35.99.

Players can team up in online co‑op mode with up to four participants.

The game features collaborations with designers such as David Wise and Tsutomu Kouno, as well as Keiichiro Toyama. Its development raised 200,000,000 yen and reached 225,000,000 yen.
