Ubisoft said it is reorganising its development structure into Creative Houses (Ubisoft’s internal development groups), having closed multiple studios and cancelled six games in 2026 as part of its cost‑reduction programme. Kotaku reported that the proposal is subject to Finland’s change negotiation process, which requires employer consultation with employees before any decision is finalised.

Ubisoft said Ubisoft Singapore remains an important part of its global production organization. The Singapore studio was created as a support studio in 2008. Ubisoft said it is committed to supporting the affected teams throughout the closure and layoff process.

RedLynx previously underwent staff cuts in October 2025, after which it said it would shift focus to mobile game projects. Skull and Bones launched in early 2024 with a $70 price tag, which Ubisoft described as a ‘quadruple‑A game’. Year 3 Season 2 of Skull and Bones, titled Crimson Waters, launched in August.

Key figures, Ubisoft studio cuts and game pricing. RedLynx jobs affected: 52; Singapore positions impacted: 70; Skull and Bones price: $70.
