On Oct. 28, 2026, Blizzard Entertainment released the opening episode of Planet Azeroth, a three-part mockumentary video series promoting World of Warcraft Forever, PCGamesN reported.
Bill Bailey, a British comedian, hosts Planet Azeroth as a Dwarven host in the style of David Attenborough’s nature documentaries, PCGamesN reported. He blends the soft-spoken wonder of David Attenborough’s nature documentaries with his dry wit, and Attenborough’s Planet Earth debuted in 2006. He presents the game’s environments, flora, and fauna. Bailey said the natural world has long fascinated him, yet nothing readies him for Azeroth.
Planet Azeroth’s three-part miniseries spans Elwynn Forest, Durotar, and Winterspring. It spotlights wolves, boars, kobolds, murlocs, kodo beasts, and quilboar as threats players will face in the MMORPG. Bailey presents the game’s environments, flora, and fauna with dry wit, and the series shows creatures that will appear as threats. In one segment, a kobold is described as a “tiny little hoarding, subterranean, evil little git” whose “simple, elegant manifesto” is protecting their candles.
The second episode of Planet Azeroth arrives Sunday, November 1, 2026. The third arrives Sunday, November 8, 2026, releasing weekly following the premiere. The game launches Wednesday, November 4. Planet Azeroth episodes arrive after the game launches.
PCGamesN said the series is most useful for newcomers to World of Warcraft Forever, with enough novelty for longtime fans. It introduces the game’s world to newcomers while offering a nostalgic treat for veteran players familiar with Azeroth.
On or around October 27, 2026, Blizzard released an animated music video promoting World of Warcraft Forever. Its soundtrack includes Amy Lee of Evanescence, Courtney LaPlante of Spiritbox, and Poppy. Blizzard made it to capture the essence of 2006, when World of Warcraft originally launched, using heavy metal music from artists tied to that era. The AMV belonged to Blizzard’s nostalgic marketing push for WoW Forever.
Mr T, William Shatner, Ozzy Osbourne, and Chuck Norris appeared in early World of Warcraft adverts. Celebrity appearances drove Blizzard’s original World of Warcraft marketing in the mid-2000s, a tradition continued by the Planet Azeroth mockumentary with Bill Bailey.
Holly Longdale, the WoW Executive Producer, said players have loved Azeroth for more than 20 years. She called the expansion a chance to revisit Azeroth through fresh eyes. She called Bailey the ideal guide to Azeroth because of his curiosity, humor, and wonder, and said millions of players call the world home. She said Planet Azeroth captures the spirit of player reverence for Azeroth and praised his selection as host, noting how his personality matches the game’s spirit of exploration.
