DeNA and The Pokémon Company announced on Oct. 16, 2026 that Pokémon TCG Pocket will release new card sets every six weeks instead of monthly, beginning with the C series.
The update will add Community Decks that let players browse, copy and see which cards other players’ decks are missing. Rental decks and starter decks will be redesigned for unlimited use and made available in versus play. Trading and sharing will be improved with a feature that allows players to view missing cards in a potential partner’s collection.
The update will increase the number of missions and events tied to pack releases. Immersive cards depicting animated scenes will be obtainable by completing collections and missions. Special Packs will be added, opened with stamina that recovers weekly.
The first Special Pack is named First Partners. It will contain starters from each of the nine regions. A new Limited Battles event type will use a restricted card pool and award accessories.
Players say the current monthly release schedule feels overwhelming and contributes to set fatigue. A financial report noted that Pokémon TCG Pocket had roughly 23 million monthly active users from April to June 2026, down 41% year‑over‑year.
