Half Human Games announced Myths from the Maw for PC via Steam on 2026-10-14. A Kickstarter campaign for Myths from the Maw will begin in 2027. “Myths from the Maw is basically our love letter to Dante’s Inferno,” — Percy Legendre IV

In Myths from the Maw, a dark cosmic fantasy tactical RPG, sin corrupts heroes who descend into an otherworldly abyss to battle rival warbands, unfathomable terrors, and corruption. Players command a mercenary band on dangerous expeditions into the Maw, a colossal space‑fallen fortress. During combat, mercenaries fight rival warbands and eldritch horrors, offering blood to alien gods to gain power.

Mercenaries gain corruption points on and off the battlefield when they sacrifice blood, slay foes, make certain decisions, or fail checks. When corruption rises, sinful traits alter behavior—for instance, hopeless mercenaries flee combat while gluttonous ones automatically consume supplies. Managing corruption from blood sacrifice, story decisions, and battlefield outcomes is central, as sinful traits may lead mercenaries to steal, disobey, sabotage missions, or join the Cult of the Maw (a faction within the game). Players can offer blood to alien demon‑gods to receive Bloodmarks that strengthen mercenaries, though the pact taints their souls.

Turn‑based battles are brutally tactical, with each skill having a distinct area‑of‑effect pattern that requires precise positioning to avoid damage while striking several foes. Move‑attacks like Dashing Slash or Leaping Smash let mercenaries reposition and surprise opponents. Knockback, pull and immobilize effects give players control of the field, enabling powerful area‑of‑effect combos.

With 12 races and 20 classes—including Shadow Knight, Sword Dancer and Witch Hunter—the game provides deep theorycraft builds and extensive gear‑driven customization. Roguelike features such as meaningful permadeath, procedurally generated dungeons and varied loot and abilities aim to boost replayability.
