- Modern Warfare 4 launch lineup includes new modes Inflation, Hijack, Arms Deal, and Frontline, while the Beta will include Search and Destroy.
- Arms Deal is a 5v5 Search and Destroy variant where players earn in-match cash from kills and objectives to buy limited weapons and equipment each round, and elimination costs the entire loadout.
Bleeding Cool reported on Aug. 21, 2026 that Modern Warfare 4 splits Prestige into two paths, based on details from the NEXT event. Under Regular Prestige, the player returns to Level 1 but keeps Create-a-Class unlocks. Classic Prestige offers a traditional reset paired with extra rewards. Every path includes its own set of rewards and milestones.
Bleeding Cool described the Weapon Progression system, which unlocks an attachment a single time and lets players use it on any gun. Infinity Ward built the setup, so a player never has to win the same unlock twice for different guns. The change reduces redundant unlocks and expands arsenal options as players switch between guns.
Bleeding Cool detailed camo progression. Camo earned in Multiplayer, DMZ, and Call of Duty: Warzone advances each gun’s Camo Track in all modes. Because players carry camo progress across modes, work in any mode counts toward goals in the others. Every mode supplies its own Mastery Camos, and the setup grants three Mastery Camos in each mode, nine in all, through Mastery Camo Challenges.
Bleeding Cool said the Modern Warfare 4 Beta opened before the October 16 release after the NEXT event on Aug. 21, 2026 shared details. The Beta will feature Search and Destroy. The launch roster adds Inflation, Hijack, Arms Deal, and Frontline as new modes.
Bleeding Cool outlined Hijack, a Beta mode where teams fight over a Data Spike. They carry or pass the spike toward the enemy Comm Station and plant it to score points as time passes. The attackers earn a bonus when the spike explodes before defenders defuse it.
Bleeding Cool described Arms Deal as a 5v5 variant of Search and Destroy. Players pick up in-match cash from kills and objectives each round and use it to buy limited weapons and equipment. When opponents eliminate a player, that player loses the full loadout, making the mode single-life and high-stakes.
Bleeding Cool presented Frontline as a team-based respawn mode played 6v6. Each life starts with a deployment from the player’s base, and points come from eliminations. Kills outside the enemy base award extra points.
Bleeding Cool listed Multiplayer in Modern Warfare 4 as including 33 weapons total, and 22 of them appear in the Beta. The arsenal also includes 28 Apex Attachments, more than 500 standard attachments, 17 Killstreaks, and 18 Perks. The loadout menu comes back as a clearer vertical list, with Operators and Killstreaks part of every class.

Bleeding Cool explained that the Perks system uses Pick 3 to support tactical readability and distinct combat roles. Ninja and Quick Fix launch with the game. The overhaul to Create-a-Class described at the NEXT event includes this system.
WorthPlaying’s DMZ guide explains that Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ features a dedicated Player Level spanning Level 1 to 70. The DMZ Progression Track hands out Printer Recipes, unlocks FOB stations, and provides content all the way to Level 70. Players add to the DMZ Player Level with every deployment. Looting, orders, and combat award XP and unlock upgrades for future deployments.
WorthPlaying’s guide describes DMZ as a persistent open-world extraction shooter set in the Hajin Exclusion Zone. Players take part in looting, objective completion, and fights against enemies and rival Operators, then attempt to extract with rewards. The Forward Operating Base serves as the hub between deployments.
WorthPlaying’s guide said the DMZ Forward Operating Base begins with stations for Operators, Stash/Loadout, DMZ Orders, Firing Range, and Survival Kits. It can expand to add 3D Printer, Gunsmith, Vendor, Bounty Leaderboard, Boss Board, Dog Tag Case, DMZ Progression, and Deploy stations. The base starts small and becomes fully operational with more than a dozen stations as players complete Operations across Hajin. The Deploy station remains the way into each mission.
IGN AU reported the launch timing after attending a Modern Warfare 4 Pop-Up Experience in Sydney hosted by Activision. Preorder customers can start DMZ Early Access on 21 October, and the full game launches on 23 October in Australia. The outlet also attended a Modern Warfare 4 Pop-Up Experience at Carriageworks in Sydney. The event included about a dozen points of interest and challenges that are virtual and physical, with getting in requiring choosing between North and South Korea.
WorthPlaying’s guide says the Modern Warfare 4 Campaign begins with a full-scale invasion of the Korean Peninsula by North Korea. The fighting includes trench warfare in Korea and close-quarters combat in New York. It also has chases through Paris and night raids by the SAS in Mumbai. Private Park, a South Korean soldier, and Captain Price carry out an off-book revenge mission during a North Korean invasion that threatens global catastrophe.
