Netmarble launched the first Albern Fortress siege in RF Online Next on Oct. 22, 2026, with the debut Outer Planet Siege Warfare battle scheduled for Oct. 31, 2026, drawing up to 500 players into a single fight. Netmarble described the Albern Fortress battlefield as “a high-stakes battlefield.”
Netmarble also opened the new Vera server on Oct. 23, 2026, with growth support events running through Nov. 11, 2026. Up to 10 guilds can join the siege, with six places reserved for Mining War winners and three for auction winners who pay with Alberium Ingots.
A guild wins the Albern Fortress siege by holding the Control Bridge for 20 minutes, receiving exclusive titles, unique costumes, Siege Shop access and accumulated marketplace tax rewards. Netmarble’s official guide adds that the winning guild also gets exclusive chat icons, guild emblem effects and Legendary Sacred Weapon paints, with benefits lasting until the end of the next Albern Fortress event.
The Albern Fortress Shop stays open to the winner until the next Siege War, and the occupying guild receives a buff that counteracts the Outer Planet’s environmental debuffs for as long as it holds the fortress. Participation rewards go to the winning guild, losing guilds and allied guilds alike.
The defending position goes to the winner of the previous siege, or to non-player characters if no prior winner exists. A guild can also win early as the defender by holding the fortress for at least 25 minutes, and the game ends early if the defense lasts 20 minutes before time expires. Attacking guilds can seize part of the accumulated marketplace tax during the fight by being first to destroy gates and other key objects before the siege ends.
Characters must be level 70 or higher to enter Albern Fortress. Mining War victors get early entry by spending Alberium Ingots, while auction fills the remaining attacker slots. Auction bidders must be Guild Level 7 or higher, and neither the defending guild nor early-entry sign-ups can bid.
Only the current 10th-place auction bid is visible, a new bid must exceed it, and a qualifying guild that does not apply is refunded at auction’s end. A guild that moves to a different world during the auction loses its bid with no refund, while an early-entry guild’s departure opens extra spots. Transfers lock once siege participation is confirmed.
Alberium Ingots used for siege entry are made by refining Alberium Ore gathered in Albern Crater and Albern Warzone. During the preparation period, guild masters and vice guild masters spend Alberium Ingots to buy Siege Skills usable once per match by the Guild Master. Key objects include the Gate, Xenoguardian, Negative and Positive Anchor, Nether Guard Tower and Control Bridge, and destroying the Control Bridge captures and occupies the castle.
Plundering an object destroyed first in a siege pays the final-blow guild part of accumulated Diamonds, capped at three plunders total, and the left Outer Castle Gate yields one-third of 4 percent once. Guilds allied to the defender cannot plunder.
Guilds may ally with one successfully bidding guild. If an ally occupies the fortress, allies cannot fight unless forced attack is on, cannot attempt occupation, can teleport to the Inner Castle instantly, and split Diamonds by pre-agreed payout, but two offensive allies gain no support.
On the new Vera server, the Novus World Conquest! seven-day mission event awards an Epic Biosuit Summon Ticket, while the Indefatigable Mercenary and Sacred Weapon Enhancement Support events provide ranking rewards, Node resources, Credits and up to 500 Summon Tickets.

The Oct. 22 update also launched Chapter 11.5 as an interlude, concluding the Asu Continent storyline and setting up a move toward Lavaron. Netmarble announced that it will restructure Mining War on Oct. 24 into single-server skirmishes that feed into integrated national battles, and split the marketplace into World and Regional versions on the same day.
The Halloween dungeon Jack-o’-Lantern’s Banquet Hall opens on Oct. 28 with eight stages, offering event currency for the Infernal Nightmare costume and Black Cat Rover appearance. Netmarble will launch Babylon Occupation Battle on Nov. 4 as a 12-server Sacred Weapon Dungeon where 200 players per server fight the boss Grand Hauler, with Tier 5 Epic equipment and blueprints for Legendary MAU Hercules and Legendary Launcher Typhon up for grabs.
RF Online Next is the official sequel to RF Online and takes place in a science-fiction world that Netmarble describes as using advanced machinery instead of flesh and blood, with a Biosuit system for class switching plus MAU mechs, Launchers and Animus summons. Netmarble began in Korea in 2000 and is the parent company of Kabam, SpinX Games and Jam City, and a major shareholder of HYBE and NCSOFT.
