Grimlore Games plans to add Titan Quest 2’s first endgame activity when the game leaves early access and launches on Tuesday, January 19, 2027, for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
After the campaign ends, a new quest will introduce Kaos through Kaos Curses that raise difficulty by boosting enemy stats, granting enemies extra abilities, or weakening the player. Players pick which curses to switch on, and activating more curses brings greater rewards plus new endgame-specific activities at set thresholds.
Grimlore describes Titan Quest 2 as a campaign-led action role-playing game, setting it apart from Diablo 4’s live-service seasons and Path of Exile 2’s leagues. The studio made the distinction while noting that many players still want to improve their characters to overcome the steepest challenges. The studio’s goal is to make finding special items more exciting and power progression feel more rewarding.
For version 1.0, Grimlore is increasing item affix limits by two, so Rare and Infrequent items can roll up to six possible modifiers. The studio is also adding new affixes, including better support for Lifesteal and flat Spell Damage bonuses that were absent. New rare affixes will typically offer two effects instead of one, be marked, and appear on an item at most twice, once as a prefix and once as a suffix.
New Epic-rarity armor will provide build-enhancing combinations and power, dropping with two randomly rolled affixes while preserving a fixed core of lore and power; Grimlore keeps most of each Epic predictable while leaving a small part random so repeat drops stay exciting. The studio is reworking many existing Infrequent items and adding new ones, and it is reworking mastery interactions to encourage hybridizing builds and give each mastery a distinct identity. New free-text and keyword search tools will aid the mastery rework and help players figure out their mastery combinations.
Grimlore is reworking passive trees to offer fewer passive points but more powerful-feeling choices, with each passive granting a wider selection of feats like the Spirit feat system. Each mastery will receive two powerful global unlocks at mastery tiers two and three; Storm grants Frost Lightning at tier two, for example. These unlocks help define each mastery’s identity based on the mechanics it is designed to excel at, with modifiers applying across both chosen masteries.

Grimlore’s final story chapter will send players to the snowy Taygetos Mountains to prevent Nemesis from completing her apocalyptic plans. Nemesis waits on the volcanic peaks with the Cyclopes as her elite guard, master craftsmen whose mechanical automatons run their forges. At the 1.0 launch, Harpy and Satyr mini-factions will begin with fewer creatures and expand later. Hero monsters will spawn randomly around the world with unique designs and abilities, presenting tougher challenges with matching rewards; the studio calls hero monsters an action role-playing game classic and is happy to finally add them to Titan Quest 2.
Grimlore plans two minor updates before January 19, 2027. The first adds buff shrines, which grant temporary benefits to experience or offensive and defensive capabilities, together with initial hero monsters.
Titan Quest 2 entered early access on August 1, 2025, and had been in early access for more than a year by the October 2026 report. Grimlore says the full release will incorporate feedback from the early access period and combine prior updates with new hero customization, lands, powers, and treasure. TechPowerUp reports that hundreds of thousands of adventurers faced Nemesis during roughly one and a half years of early access. The full-release announcement, framed through Hermes, introduced Nemesis as the Goddess of Retribution and the main antagonist.
The Summons Update was announced on April 9, 2026, as a new feature for the Early Access version of the action hack-and-slash RPG developed by Grimlore Games, for PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. It adds summons and item changes for combat.
