Nintendo will air a roughly 15-minute Indie World showcase on October 28, 2026, at 7 a.m. PT and 10 a.m. ET, streaming on Nintendo’s YouTube channel to spotlight upcoming indie games and updates for Switch and Switch 2.
Nintendo revealed the showcase through the Nintendo Today app and its X account on October 27, 2026. Game Informer published the announcement that day and identified Nintendo’s YouTube channel as the viewing destination. Noisy Pixel notes that such app news normally reaches social media at the top of the hour.
Nintendo of America posted on X that day, inviting fans to join the broadcast at 7 a.m. PT for roughly 15 minutes of indie announcements and updates. The company’s post said, “Tune in for roughly 15 minutes of new announcements and updates on indie games coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.”
The presentation will stream on Nintendo’s official YouTube channel, and Shacknews reports it will also stream on Nintendo’s Twitch channel. The YouTube link is live and reminders are available ahead of the October 28, 2026 premiere.
The roughly 15-minute format mirrors the last Indie World Showcase, which ran about 15 minutes in March 2026. That March presentation featured Denshattack, Minishoot’ Adventures, Blue Prince, and Mixtape. Several of those games have already launched by October 2026, including Denshattack, a port of Minishoot’ Adventures, and Blue Prince, a shadow drop described as one of 2025’s best games.
Two March 2026 showcase games remain unreleased after delays to 2027: Drinkbox Studios’ Blighted and Grave Seasons, a murder mystery farming sim. Game Informer also lists other notable indies headed to Switch platforms that might appear at the October 28, 2026 showcase: The Eternal Life of Goldman, Witchbrook, Hoa 2, Human Fall Flat 2, and SacriFire.
Hollow Knight: Silksong launched last year, and its previously announced free expansion Sea of Sorrow is slated to arrive this year. Game Informer notes the presentation was once defined by calls for Silksong, and says fans can politely demand the expansion’s appearance in the showcase’s live chat. Nintendo said, “Tune in for roughly 15 minutes of new announcements and updates on indie games coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch”

The showcase focuses on independent games, so viewers should not expect updates about games developed by Nintendo or its own teams. Meristation says the showcase will exclude Zelda, Super Mario, and content from Nintendo’s own development teams because indie games drove much of the Switch’s success. Nintendo has not specified which indie titles or updates will appear. Independent developers will present both new titles and some games now coming to the Nintendo console.
Indie World livestreams give Nintendo the chance to make new announcements without the fan expectations of a traditional Nintendo Direct. Like previous streams, the October 28, 2026 broadcast will run about 15 minutes and focus on a wide range of games from third-party Nintendo partners. The Indie World Showcase offers a broader look at the smaller games coming to Switch consoles.
Since the original Switch launched in 2017, the Nintendo eShop has hosted a massive number of games from indie studios. Nintendo has actively looked for ways to highlight its indie partners, and Indie World Showcase events are a big part of that strategy. Indie titles played a significant role in the success of the Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo’s 2026 holiday-season blockbuster is a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, arriving next week after September’s The Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary Nintendo Direct. Yahoo Tech calls it the holiday-season blockbuster and notes September’s The Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary Nintendo Direct featured it. Engadget says its release is next week relative to the October 28, 2026 showcase.
