Valve introduced Steam Achievement Sets in the Steam client beta in October 2026.

Achievement Sets let developers group related achievements into collections, each with its own progress bar. Upon unlocking every achievement in a set, Steam awards a ‘set complete’ trophy on the player’s profile. The trophy stays valid even when achievements are later added to the same set.

Base Game sets include achievements open to every player and show blue progress along with their trophies. DLC sets gather achievements tied to purchased content and display purple progress until that content is owned.

Developers have the option to archive single achievements or whole sets for limited‑time or seasonal content. Archived achievements stay visible on the profiles of players who earned them. Archived achievements are hidden from players who never unlocked them and do not hinder progress toward finishing a set or the game.

The updated achievements page summarizes overall progress, progress per set, and individual achievement details, with global stats and per‑achievement completion rates available behind a toggle. The former ‘Perfect Games‘ tab has been renamed ‘Completed’. The ‘Completed’ tab now also lists games with completed sets, and games with completed sets can be added to the Completionist Showcase on a player’s profile.

Games played via Steam Family Sharing are now included in the Games List. They are also eligible for friend comparison when using Achievement Sets.

Players may compare their achievement progress with as many as three friends. The comparison displays completed sets and a total achievement count that counts only the achievements each player is able to earn.

Valve notes that games today have longer lifespans due to DLC, expansions, and seasons. Valve also says that new achievements can obscure completion status for players who finished the base game.

17 games currently support Achievement Sets. Supported titles include Portal 2, Team Fortress 2, American Truck Simulator, Euro Truck Simulator 2, and Forza Horizon 5; also Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, PowerWash Simulator, PowerWash Simulator 2, Dredge, Against the Storm, and Flock Around; and supported games are He Is Coming, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, Crusader Kings III, Age of Wonders 4, and Victoria 3.
