The opening ends about three years of closed testing for the fantasy action MMORPG, a period during which access was granted through sporadic invites. Previously, players were thrust into the open world to explore and figure things out without an introduction.
Eurogamer reports that Soulframe has suffered delays since its first reveal, and even while access was restricted it received multiple substantial updates including new quests, Pacts, and factions.
Geoff Crookes, the game’s creative director, said opening the gates is the right time to gather essential feedback on mounts and world progression systems from a larger player base to inform Soulframe’s direction. “It feels a little scary to finally open the gates like this,” Crookes said. He made the statement in the October 30, 2026, announcement, thanking players who helped get Soulframe this far.
Verse of the Veilands arrives in November 2026 and introduces a new environmental world progression system called Veilands. After completing The Tormented Stag Fable, players trek across Alca’s overworld to purify regions corrupted by invading Ode forces in Veilands. The new system offers players a starting point for exploring the open map. Unlike the earlier approach, it does not leave newcomers to figure things out alone.
A new character Pact (a character class or playstyle) called Ode Shrike arrives with the update. Eurogamer describes Ode Shrike as a tricksy trapper who brings spikes, snares, bombs, and chains into fights against foes, using the invaders’ trapping gear to wear them down.
After completing a wolf pup’s training and purifying two Veilands regions, players brew a Bairnday Biscuit to grow the pup into a fully fledged Omen Wolf mount. GamingTrend and WorthPlaying describe the mount system as continuing to develop in future updates, summarizing it as raising a wolf pup into a rideable mount while cleansing the corrupted landscape.

Players can form parties of up to four to explore or face challenges together in the game’s open world. WorthPlaying describes cooperative play as an option for rallying against formidable challenges or exploring together.
The seasonal event Bita’s Eve returns with Wintersquash patches, headless horserider Veltruska, limited-time rewards, and special fish called Sunken Terror. Both GamingTrend and WorthPlaying list Bita’s Eve among the latest additions arriving with Verse of the Veilands in November 2026.
Soulframe is in development for PC on Steam, and players can wishlist the game to receive development updates. WorthPlaying and GamingTrend note the Steam presence and wishlist option as part of the game’s path to a broader PC release.
Supporting Soulframe as a Founder instantly unlocks special in-game Pacts and equipment. GamingTrend and WorthPlaying include the Founder incentive in the sign-up instructions ahead of the November 6 start of Soulframe Open Preludes.

Nov. 6 falls two days after World of Warcraft: Forever‘s release and in the same week as Old School RuneScape’s Hardcore worlds. Eurogamer frames the timing as making November a packed month for MMO enthusiasts alongside other major releases.

Eurogamer presents this as a major next step in Warframe’s narrative while discussing it alongside Soulframe’s launch.
