Ubisoft Montreal unveiled the new character Pandemos for March of Giants on October 12, 2026, adding him to the Pioneer Playtest. Pandemos is described as a “toxic terror” capable of both healing and harm, and as a “plague doctor of pestilence” who spreads contagions through allies and enemies using noxious mixtures that cause decay, rot, and infection. To unlock Pandemos during the Pioneer Playtest, players must reach Pioneer Player status by earning 1,000 Pioneer Points.
Points are awarded as 100 for a win and 50 for a loss in PvP matches. A 20% point booster is available via Twitch or Discord, increasing to 50% in the playtest’s final days. Once unlocked, Pandemos remains permanently available in that player’s roster for all later playtests and Early Access. With Pandemos added, the March of Giants roster totals 17 Giants, of which 16 were accessible at the start of the Pioneer Playtest and Pandemos became the 17th when he joined.
The Pioneer Playtest is a playtest phase for March of Giants. It continued until Sunday October 18, 2026. The passive Afflicted Regiment infects Pandemos’s rallied soldiers, slowing enemy giants and making them more vulnerable to Alchemical damage. His ability Miasmic Flask throws a containment flask that damages and slows enemies, shattering on impact to spread its toxic contents.
The ability Cure Toxin creates a fume cloud that heals self or an ally and provides alchemic resistance before the effect spreads to other targets. Phobia Blight delivers a delayed virulent blast that damages enemies and inflicts fear. The ultimate The Vector Plague bounces between enemies, hurting and slowing them while causing them to be distrusted by their own soldiers.
Xavier Marquis serves as the Creative Director of March of Giants. He said he is confident that March of Giants can achieve a breakout success like his previous work as lead designer on Rainbow Six Siege.
