Arrowhead Game Studios is marking the third annual Liberty Day, known in-universe as Liberty Day 2186, with gifts, decorations, and festive content in Helldivers 2 starting Oct. 26, 2026.
Liberty Day lasts 24 hours on Oct. 26, 2026. Super Destroyer ship lobbies display banners, rugs, and party supplies under new holiday adornment rules. The props disappear after the event ends, leaving nothing in a player’s permanent ship setup.
Active Helldivers get a free AR-23L Liberator Legacy rifle, a retro weapon based on First Galactic War arms, arriving at 23:59 CET on Oct. 26, 2026, when the event ends. Arrowhead links the rifle to the current Liberator assault rifle line because both use the AR-23 designation. Players qualify by playing Helldivers 2 at least once after 00:00 CET on Sept. 26, 2026; those who played in the last month do nothing, and the rifle arrives automatically at event end with no claim button. Arrowhead has not said how to earn the weapon once the event ends.
Four community minigames return: Minidivers, Adopt-a-SEAF, Oath of Enlistment, and Raise the Flag. Three of them—Minidivers, Oath of Enlistment, and Raise the Flag—need a membership on the official Arrowhead Discord server.
Events for Liberty Day include the Liberty Day Pyre, parades broadcast from Prosperity City, Helldiver Enlistment, fireworks, and an Orbital Bombardment of the Moon with more than 15,000 megatons of ordnance.

Arrowhead offers a downloadable Liberty Day Party Pack with games, decorations, recipes, and helmets players can print. High Command created the Party Planning Protocol for planning regulation Liberty Day celebrations, and the pack is available through a link on the official PlayStation site. Licensed Liberty Day merchandise includes a Displate Display Shards set of six limited-edition metal collectibles and posters, plus a FiGGYZ collector’s box with four pixel-art magnetic figures that can be pre-ordered starting Nov. 20. The Displate set shows artwork inspired by the game, and FiGGYZ provides individually numbered sets that include Helldiver and enemy figures.
Arrowhead’s blog ties Liberty Day to Managed Democracy fiction. It says the Democratic Council delivered the tenets of Managed Democracy after undemocratic chaos, and all citizens must perform a Mandatory Salute. On Oct. 26, 2026, Class A citizens receive full-day celebration privileges. Class B citizens get only a one-hour mandatory celebration period to leave labor duties for the parade and Mandatory Salute.

Arrowhead says players should log in and take part when the celebrations end, and the rifle arrives automatically at event end with no claim button. Players who stopped before Sept. 26, 2026 and come back only for Liberty Day do not qualify. Vice says Helldivers 2 stays active because of frequent updates and exciting in-game activities. The automatic delivery covers both active and returning players within the one-month eligibility window.
Helldivers 2 is available through the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for Extra members and on PlayStation Store. PlayStation 5 play requires internet access, and players buy a paid membership separately. The game joined the catalog on Aug. 12, 2026, and players can play it on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles. The game came to Steam on Feb. 8, 2024, so 2026 marks its third year and third Liberty Day celebration.
The Scope of Authority Premium Warbond came out on Oct. 20, 2026 with patch 7.2.0, adding bolt-action, laser, and anti-material rifles. Patch 7.2.0 improved collaboration weapons and changed the Bile Strain enemy. Arrowhead revealed patch 7.2.0, “Devoid of Liberty,” on Oct. 20, 2026 through Steam, and said on Oct. 13 through the PlayStation Blog that the Warbond would launch the same day. GameLuster notes that Oct. 20, 2026 mattered because the Warbond and patch launched together.
Players need to finish select in-game achievements by 9:59am PT on Feb. 28, 2027 to buy Super Merch Store items. Level 100 and the Hell Commander title unlock the Hell Commander Pin for purchase, and players also unlock the Private Teddy Snuggles Plush after 75 missions. Players can order Super Merch from Aug. 12, 2026 to March 31, 2027 at 11:59pm PT, with a limit of one per player and no Japan delivery for the plush. Products cannot ship where US regulations prohibit.
