Chucklefish confirmed on Nov. 3, 2026, through the Witchbrook Discord channel that Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 players will be able to play together at launch.
The studio announced the release date during Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase on Oct. 28, 2026. Witchbrook will launch on Jan. 28, 2027, after slipping from its expected winter 2025 window, so the team could refine the game world and its characters.
Crossplay applies to the original Switch and Switch 2, letting players on both systems join the same sessions. Chucklefish issued the update after an earlier message said the feature would come later. An unnamed developer wrote, “Update: Switch 1 and 2 will be able to play together.”
Witchbrook is a magical life simulation game with online co-op for up to four players at release. Friends can explore Mossport, practice magic, and ride broomsticks together.
The game will be on Xbox Game Pass on launch day, giving eligible subscribers day-one access. It will retail at $24.99 across its supported launch platforms. Chucklefish, based in London, developed Witchbrook with co-development support from German studio Robotality.
