Costco is offering the digital remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2 to members online at $54.99 after a $5 discount, The Verge reported Nov. 7, 2026.

The discount is available only to Costco members, and shoppers must log into their account before checkout. The $5 discount nearly pays for one month of a $65 annual Costco membership, The Verge said Nov. 7, 2026.

Yahoo Tech / Billboard says the remake launched for Nintendo Switch 2 on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026, with the standard digital price at $59.99 and the physical copy at $69.99. Starting Nov. 5, the remake is available for $59.99 as a digital download from Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon and other retailers.

The remake adds voiced cutscenes, expanded dialogue and symphonic orchestral music to enhanced graphics, new visuals, modern mechanics and on-demand jumping for the 1998 Nintendo 64 original. Link can jump at any time in the remake instead of only at specific ledges. Yahoo Tech / Billboard says the original debuted in 1998 on the Nintendo 64 and remains a classic nearly 30 years later, and that Nintendo remade Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo Switch 2 for a new generation of players.

Yahoo Tech / Billboard says the remake’s story, gameplay and puzzles match the N64 original. The Ocarina is an ancient vessel flute, a wind instrument at the heart of the game where players use it to solve puzzles, control time and warp between parts of the map. Players can whistle or hum melodies into the Nintendo Switch 2 console’s microphone because Nintendo made the game for the system.

IGN reviewer Logan Plant gave the remake a 9/10, saying “Nintendo skillfully melds the world and dungeon design of classic Zeldas with the movement and presentation of its more recent games.” The Verge says its Andrew Webster found modern quality-of-life changes impressive in the classic experience, and notes that the remake’s updated graphics combine realistic scenery with puppet-like figures.

Best Buy and Target have launched early sales ahead of the weekend as early Black Friday deals begin, IGN says, and November sale events from many retailers run through the whole month. Yahoo Tech / Billboard says a dedicated Ocarina of Time controller costs $49.99 at Best Buy. Some retailers offered preorder discounts on the remake before the Costco deal.
