Marvel Rivals released Avengers: Endgame PvE mode on Oct. 24, 2026, as the final phase of its Path to Doomsday event, opening the full hero roster to face Thanos.

The mode is a limited-time 50-player PvE experience set in the ruins of the Avengers Compound, making it much larger than previous four-player PvE events such as the Halloween Zombie Mode.

Three two-hour sessions run on each Friday and Saturday across four weekends: Oct. 23 to 24, Oct. 30 to 31, Nov. 6 to 7, and Nov. 13 to 14, 2026. The November sessions use PST and EST instead of PDT and EDT because the clock change on Nov. 1, 2026, shifts local times back one hour.

The last Thanos match takes place on Nov. 14, 2026, and the full event runs until Nov. 26, 2026, with extra activities in Times Square. Players pick a hero at the start, enter the map, and wait for portals to open before the fight begins against Thanos and his army.

Thanos fights across four combat phases, with new attacks as his health falls. Phase one starts with sword strikes at close and long range, and phase two brings Infinity Stone abilities meant to control groups of players.

Phase three adds fleet bombardments across the map as Thanos keeps using the Infinity Stones, and the final phase is a timed race to stop him from snapping before the clock expires. Defeated players respawn after a short timer, may switch heroes, and rejoin, while the final blow in phase four awards match MVP (most valuable player).

The mission board offers four challenges, each with two rewards, and Times Square activities run until Nov. 26, 2026, at 4 AM EST or 1 AM PST. Two minutes of the Avengers: Endgame highlights screening in Times Square unlocks the Gallery Card, and a group photo with NPCs outside the Avengers’ Gift Shop earns 100 Units.

Marvel Rivals’ official account shared a gameplay clip on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026, calling it a first look and saying the mode arrives “this week” with no exact day or time given. The post reads: “Here’s a glimpse at some of the gameplay of the new Path to Doomsday: Avengers [End Game] mode, arriving to the game this week.”

Polygon reported on Oct. 6, 2026, that creative director Guangyun Chen, also known as Gaungguang, said the battle would recreate iconic film moments such as Thanos’ “I am inevitable” line. Thanos will not be a playable character anytime soon, though NetEase recently added The Hood and Gorr the God Butcher as the last two new characters.

NetEase announced last month that Season 10 would receive only one new character, Gorr, ending an eight-season streak of monthly new heroes that lasted roughly eighteen months. Season 10.5 adds Halloween-focused skins on Oct. 15, 2026, for characters including Devil Dino and Deadpool during the All Hallows Glow event, plus the Night of Illusions puzzle mode on Oct. 29, 2026. The 18 versus 18 Annihilation mode is receiving a new map called Alchemax Headquarters as part of Season 10.5.

Beebom published a same-day guide naming ten best heroes for the mode: Human Torch, Jubilee, Storm, Jean Phoenix, Iron Man, Moon Knight, Scarlet Witch, The Hood, Ultron, and Jeff the Land Shark. Beebom tested all available heroes and noted that kits were not updated and no special upgrades exist between rounds.

Human Torch ranks low on the tier list (a ranking of heroes by effectiveness) but is effective because aerial heroes bypass ground minions and aim at Thanos’ health bar from the air; players should use Blazing Blast to create a Pyro-prison, spam Fire Clusters, then use the Supernova ultimate. Jubilee is the best Strategist (a support or healing role) choice after her Season 10.5 buff, able to deal damage and heal teammates by dropping and inflating Blooming Balls, with the Fireworks Finale ultimate useful especially in the second phase. Storm, among the least picked heroes, instantly became one of the most-picked characters and can target Thanos over minions while attacking from a distance with Wind Blades, though her limited mobility makes escaping Thanos’ attacks difficult.

Jean Phoenix should stand in the outer arena and hit Thanos with Cosmic Flames, using Telepathic Illusion and Dark Ascent to readjust position when he uses Infinity Stones; Phoenix’s Endsong Inferna ultimate can cause mass destruction if timed and placed properly. Iron Man, an aerial Duelist (a damage-dealing role), can focus on nuking Thanos with repulsor blasts and unibeam, and his missiles received auto-tracking in Season 10.5 for the first time; players should enter Armor Overdrive mode, keep firing on Thanos to charge the ultimate, then send the Invincible Pulse Cannon in his way before he moves.

Moon Knight excels against swarms of Chitauri, Chitauri Gorillas, and minions because Crescent Darts ricochet between foes, though the lack of high ground makes staying near healers important. Scarlet Witch’s abilities can wipe out Chitauri squads and drain Thanos’ life force, continuing her success from the Age of Ultron PvE and Infinity War PvP (player versus player) modes. The Hood is the only solid Vanguard (a tank or frontline role) pick because he builds Demonic Energy with his dual pistols, enters a Half-Demon state for movement and attack boosts, and benefits from Thanos’ massive hitbox during Demon of the End.

Ultron is the second-best Strategist after Jubilee, managing healing from above with drones while hitting Thanos with Encephalo-Ray and using Rage of Ultron when spaceships strike or Infinity Stones are used. Jeff the Land Shark can heal allies and damage minions with Joyful Splash, use Hide and Seek to escape, and create a healing water zone, though his It’s Jeff ultimate cannot swallow Thanos. Beebom said picking any one of the ten listed heroes makes it very easy to defeat Thanos.
